TITLE: Platform Maturity Lead
DUTIES: BorgWarner Noblesville LLC seeks a Platform Maturity Lead based out of our office at 2151 E Lincoln Rd, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work from the aforementioned address and from home. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned address. Note, this position requires domestic travel as needed up to 10%.
Responsibilities include: ensure all automotive electronic engineering work products for the automotive vehicle platform including systems, software and hardware are aligned and adhere to maturity level definitions, escalate any deviations and request support in timely manner to ensure platform deliverables meet timing; evaluate project work to ensure effectiveness, technical adequacy, or compatibility in the resolution of complex electronics engineering problems; apply electrical engineering principles to ensure platform assets meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations; represent platform in discussions with solution center on all New Business Opportunities (NBO) quote activities in North America and support Global projects representing platform work products, using the Cascade Matrix (CM) definitions and discuss existing or potential electronics engineering projects or products; ensure CM pilot tool utilization and drives requirements for Variant management tool development with global tools and IT; Determine product or automotive system requirements; support System Project Lead in planning electronic systems integration tasks for functional testing; build and own feature and solution maturity for KPI dashboard, including maturity level definition, auditing the data for data consistency and accuracy; help with EPP efficiency KPI (with better correlation the maturity of our assets and the needs of the projects for a realistic KPI related to usability and deployment); support and drive the variant control definition and deployment based on current work on CM and its future version in collaboration with systems engineering Center of Excellence (COEs) and Center of Competence (CoCs); support Project Planning: Develop a comprehensive project plan, to ensure features and solutions evolve in maturity with every platform release. This planning need to support functionality based development in platform; Direct or coordinate activities concerned with design, manufacture, construction, installation, maintenance, operation, or modification of automotive electronic equipment, products, or systems; track activities, issues, and changes, ensuring timely resolution and documentation; ensure readiness of deliverables for release and gate reviews, meeting all required criteria; follow up on product quality status, ensuring compliance with standards and requirements; interface with solution center to ensure NBO quotes capture platform reuse and optimize electronic Engineering Development & Design (ED&D) estimates; Analyze automotive electronics system requirements, capacity, cost, or customer needs to determine project feasibility; identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact; facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment; identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project performance. Research or develop new green electronics technologies in automotive propulsion and controls systems.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electronics Engineering and 120 months of experience in job offered or related. Must also have: Automotive experience in at least two of the following areas: HV Inverter design; ECUs/Controller; Software; Controls; electric machine; drive unit design; or modelling and simulation for electric propulsion components or systems; experience in at least one of the following areas: controllers; inverters; or eDrive units; Experience taking programs to production in automotive; experience in at two of the following engineering theories: Powertrain Systems, Controls Systems, or Automotive HV Electronics; and experience in project leadership.
