About the Role
Darktrace is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Director, Product Marketing, Secure AI to lead global product marketing for one of the company's most important growth initiatives. This role will own the positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategy, launch execution, and market adoption of Darktrace / SECURE AI, helping organizations securely embrace AI innovation while managing emerging risks across AI agents, GenAI applications, prompt interactions, AI development environments, and Shadow AI. This role supports Darktrace's AI solution area strategy and is critical to establishing AI security as a category-leading growth business.
Reporting to the VP Product & Solutions Marketing, this leader will serve as the voice of the product, translating complex AI security capabilities into compelling, differentiated value propositions that resonate with CISOs, CIOs, security leaders, risk teams, and executive buyers.
The Director will also lead and develop a small but growing Product Marketing team, currently consisting of two direct reports. This role requires a hands-on people leader who can build culture, coach talent, establish clear priorities, and foster a high-performance environment while maintaining strategic ownership of Darktrace's secure AI go-to-market initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines deep cybersecurity expertise, strong product marketing leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for emerging AI technologies. They are equally comfortable defining category narratives, influencing product strategy, briefing industry analysts, enabling sales teams, engaging customers, and representing Darktrace on industry stages.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Own the global product marketing strategy, positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution for Darktrace / SECURE AI.
- Lead strategic, cross-functional initiatives that advance Darktrace's secure AI business objectives, market presence, and long-term growth strategy.
- Develop differentiated market narratives that establish Darktrace as a leader in securing enterprise AI, including AI agents, GenAI applications, prompt security, AI development environments, and Shadow AI.
- Create compelling buyer-centric messaging, value propositions, competitive positioning, and category-defining content that clearly articulates Darktrace's market differentiation.
- Lead major product launches, go-to-market initiatives, and integrated marketing programs in partnership with Product Management, Corporate Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, and Customer Success.
- Serve as the primary product marketing spokesperson for / SECURE AI, representing Darktrace at industry conferences, customer events, webinars, executive briefings, analyst meetings, media engagements, and partner events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry analysts, influencing market perception and supporting Darktrace's positioning within AI security and cybersecurity categories.
- Create and execute thought leadership strategies that position Darktrace as a trusted authority in AI security, AI governance, and secure AI adoption.
- Drive the development of high-impact content, including keynote presentations, analyst briefings, white papers, executive presentations, customer stories, solution briefs, market research, sales plays, and competitive intelligence assets.
- Develop and deliver sales enablement materials, including pitch decks, battlecards, messaging frameworks, discovery guides, objection-handling resources, and customer-facing presentations.
- Partner closely with Product Management to incorporate customer feedback, market trends, analyst insights, and competitive intelligence into product strategy and roadmap discussions.
- Collaborate with broader Marketing, Enablement, Sales, Field CISOs, Customer Success, and Product teams to improve customer outcomes and ensure market feedback is reflected in positioning and go-to-market programs.
- Provide rapid response support for competitive situations, market developments, executive communications, industry events, analyst inquiries, and cybersecurity-related news cycles.
- Define and measure success through key performance indicators, including awareness, engagement, pipeline influence, adoption, customer expansion, and revenue impact.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Marketing professionals, currently consisting of two direct reports, while building organizational capabilities to support future growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Demonstrate an empowering, servant-oriented leadership style that develops talent, encourages diverse perspectives, and builds high-performing teams.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of Product Marketing, Solutions Marketing, Product Management, or Go-to-Market experience within cybersecurity, ML/AI, SaaS, cloud, or enterprise technology markets.
- Experience marketing cybersecurity solutions, with a strong understanding of security operations, cloud security, network security, AI security, and security platforms.
- Strong knowledge of AI technologies, including GenAI, LLMs, AI agents, AI governance, AI risk management, and emerging AI security challenges.
- Demonstrated success launching new products, developing market categories, and driving measurable business growth.
- Proven experience developing executive-level messaging, strategic narratives, and thought leadership programs.
- Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling skills, including public speaking experience with customers, analysts, and industry audiences.
- Demonstrated experience managing analyst relations programs and influencing industry perception.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage customer insights, market intelligence, and performance data to guide strategic decisions.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership teams.
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience, including direct management, coaching, mentoring, and development of Product Marketing, Solutions Marketing, or related Go-to-Market professionals.
- Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing teams while balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
- Proven leadership style centered on culture building, talent development, collaboration, and creating an environment where individuals can perform at their best.
- Experience working in high-growth, fast-paced technology environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience marketing AI security, cloud security, network security, or cybersecurity platform solutions.
- Experience helping define or create emerging technology categories.
- Previous experience working with analyst firms including Gartner, Forrester, IDC, or similar organizations.
- Established public speaking track record at industry conferences, customer events, executive briefings, or webinars.
- Experience scaling Product Marketing organizations and developing future leaders.
