Description
Quality Control and Safety Manager
Administrative Special Services Staff (TASS)
The Quality Control and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the General Services Department – Blight Remediation service levels are optimal; all worksites and work areas are safe for employees, public and others affected by blight remediation activities. The Quality Control and Safety Manager will ensure optimal service levels, safety compliance, and safe worksites for Blight Remediation Activities.
- Conduct field audits and inspections to identify potential hazards. Discuss safety at toolbox talks, new hire orientation and/or staff meetings.
- Collect and analyze service level and safety information.
- Assist supervisors in understanding workplace hazards, OSHA, MIOSHA and other safety-related regulations.
- Generate service level and safety reports and find ways to improve upon work performed.
- Develop and implement safety training and initiatives to improve workplace safety.
- Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures in line with local, state and federal regulations.
- Ensure all employees are properly trained on safety protocols and equipment usage and emergency procedures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents.
- Create and produce summarization and/or analytical reports.
- Recommend corrective action for safety hazards and violations.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED
- First Aid, OSHA 30, and OSHA 51 certifications
- 1 - 2 years experience in Quality Control, Safety or related field
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certified Safety Professional or Occupational Health and Safety Technician
- Required Certifications: First Aid, OSHA 30, OSHA 51; OSHA 500 preferred
Equivalency
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.
This is an Administrative Special Services Staff position. This Appointment Term is based on availability of grant funds.
The continuation of this role depends on the availability of ongoing funding.
Employment beyond the current grant period is not guaranteed and will be based on the renewal of funding.
