Description

We are seeking a Mid-Level Java Microservices & Data Platform Engineer to support a strategic GenAI-driven modernization initiative focused on enhancing the Banzai producer experience. This role will play a critical part in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable backend systems and real-time data pipelines.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture, along with exposure to distributed data platforms and modern cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop scalable microservices using Java 8 and Spring Boot
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs supporting high-volume enterprise applications
- Develop and optimize data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads
- Enhance Kafka-based real-time data processing systems
- Contribute to Spark-based ETL processes and data transformation pipelines
- Implement observability solutions using tools like Grafana and Splunk
- Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift environments
- Ensure system performance, reliability, and security through best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems with Hadoop/Databricks ecosystems

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- 5–7 years of experience in backend development
- Strong proficiency in Java 8 and Spring Boot microservices
- Experience with REST API development and integration
- Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Exposure to Spark or large-scale data processing frameworks
- Experience with container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk)
- Understanding of CI/CD and version control tools (Git, Bitbucket)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in enterprise data platforms
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and data lake environments (Databricks/Hadoop)
- Experience in secure application development and authentication mechanisms

This Mid-Level Developer role (5–7 years experience, Chennai) is critical to supporting a high-priority strategic initiative focused on modernizing the Banzai producer experience. The role directly contributes to backend platform development, including microservices architecture, data pipeline optimization, and real-time processing systems.


The position requires expertise in Java-based microservices, along with working knowledge of distributed data ecosystems involving Kafka, Spark ETL processes, and Kubernetes deployments. These capabilities are essential to delivering scalable, observable, and high-performance data platforms integrated with Hadoop/Databricks environments.
