This position provides age specific quality childcare services as applicable to assigned area(s). Supports the organization in fulfilling the mission, vision, and values of Logan Health.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age required.
  • Associates degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education preferred.
  • Montana state required early childhood training courses successfully completed within six (6) months of hire required.
    • Preliminary registry courses successfully completed within three (3) weeks of hire required.
  • STARs assistant teacher training successfully completed within twelve (12) months of hire required.
  • Current CPR/AED certification or must be successfully obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, nurturing, patient, comforting, creative, responsive, compassionate, flexible, encouraging, and culturally sensitive and aware.
  • Promotes excellence through setting high standards and providing high quality outcomes.
  • Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and exhibit empathy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Ensures a safe and healthy environment by always providing supervision for all children.
  • Monitors childcare areas for hazards or issues and corrects per department protocol.
  • Assists in creating a stimulating, cognitively challenging classroom environment that encourages exploration and experimentation for varying ability levels and ages.
  • Proactively seeks direction from primary teacher, classroom schedule and center routines.
  • Exhibits an understanding of Montana state daycare licensure requirements, Montana STARs program and Montana Child and Adult Care Food Program requirements.
  • Assists children develop and practice good health/safety, healthy nutrition, and exercise habits. 
  • Accurately and efficiently completes all documentation regarding observations, attendance records, and daily logged information.
  • Respects cultural diversity and physical disabilities of children while professionally and respectfully interacting with children, families and peers.
  • Exhibits familiarity with standard developmental milestones and redirection techniques.
  • Exhibits flexibility and organization while functioning calmly and efficiently in a changing environment.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Shift:

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Kid Kare Hours / Schedule: Monday - Friday | 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

5 8-hour shifts
