Overview
The Manager, Philanthropy Development and Communications leads revenue generating fundraising activity for the PDS Health Foundation™, with primary focus on vendor partnerships, major donor cultivation, and recurring gift programs. This role builds and maintains donor relationships, develops communications and marketing content across email, social media, and press channels, and tracks progress against fundraising goals. Grant writing may be part of the role on an occasional basis but is not a core focus.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes fundraising and stewardship strategy focused on vendor partnerships, major donor cultivation, and recurring gift programs to meet and exceed revenue goals.
- Builds and stewards relationships with major donors and vendor partners, serving as a primary point of contact to support long term engagement and giving.
- Designs and manages recurring gift program strategy, including donor onboarding, retention, and growth initiatives.
- Develops, writes, and maintains communications and marketing content across email, social media, and press releases to support donor engagement and Foundation visibility.
- Partners with internal stakeholders and, where applicable, external agencies to ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all donor facing communications.
- Tracks, maintains, and reports on fundraising and communications goals, using data to inform strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
- Supports grant writing efforts as needed, including proposal development and reporting, in coordination with Foundation leadership.
- Maintains accurate donor records and gift tracking in coordination with relevant systems and departments.
- Ensures all development and communications activities comply with Foundation policy and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensures compliance with all policies and standards, as well as state, federal and other regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS); in lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in a related field.
- 6+ years of experience leading strategic fundraising campaigns.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS).
- Experience in healthcare or dental is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy with focus areas on vendor partnerships, major donors, and recurring gift programs to achieve revenue targets.
- Skill in building, sustaining, and deepening relationships with major donors, vendor partners, and other stakeholders to enhance engagement and long-term support for fundraising initiatives.
- Expertise in creating high-impact communications and marketing materials across platforms including email, social media, and press releases to amplify fundraising campaigns and donor engagement.
Work Environment
- Travel via car or airplane for meetings, audits, vendor engagements, and/or site visits (10%).
- Travel includes overnight periods (10%).
- Typically requires in-person presence at the support office Monday through Friday (100%).
