FORSHAW has an immediate need for a proactive, team-focused Staff Accountant in our Charlotte, NC office. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical accounting skills, gain exposure to financial reporting and internal controls, and contribute to a collaborative finance team supporting the Company’s continued growth. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting activities, support month-end and year-end close processes, and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial records.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, record, and maintain journal entries and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support the finance team
- Support year-end audit activities and respond to auditor requests as assigned
- Assist with sales tax and other tax-related reporting requirements
- Maintain compliance with established accounting policies and internal controls
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and departmental projects
- Collaborate with operational departments to ensure accurate accounting for business transactions
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications
Required
- Accounting degree required

Preferred
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, xlookup, sumif, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems
- Experience in distribution, wholesale, logistics, or multi-location environments
- CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification a plus
