The Wellbore Construction Engineering group provides product design and qualification support for product line equipment worldwide. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer takes ownership in developing new products, provides support for the existing products, and responds to operations/customer feasibility work.

Our Completions Team partners with on-site operators and customers to provide support and guidance to ensure the capacity and value of the well is maximized to its full potential.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the following.
- Executing the evaluation, design, analysis, test, or integration of individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Applying system engineering methodologies such as requirements definition, system architecture and integration, analyses, configuration management, and risk management in the design phase of products
- Providing technical leadership to personnel/cross functional teams supporting the assigned project.
- Implementing and recommending plans with guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned components, systems, or programs.
- Leading or participating in teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
- Presenting or participating in technical and program design reviews.
- Assuring proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Estimating and managing assigned project timelines and costs.
- Planning and executing product validation testing.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in completions technologies.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to interact with both internal and external customers.
- Be an effective team collaborator with good understanding of behavioral and personnel dynamics; Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Be able to demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing projects or workload demands.
- Be proficient in design, modelling, analysis, and product qualification.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in the design of down hole oil field equipment, especially liner hangers
- Strong experience with FEA (finite element analysis), especially plastic deformations, load reversals, and kinematic hardening
- Strong preference for Expandable Liner Hanger experience
- Understanding of basic oilfield practices and applications
- Experience with product design including stress calculations, tolerances studies
- Familiarity with qualification testing and test fixture design, especially API 19LH
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes/design for manufacturability
- Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD system
- Experience with Teamcenter PLM software
