Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily field safety oversight and compliance engagement across active construction operations.
- Maintain a visible safety presence onsite and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and site safety procedures.
- Support safety oversight for fuel flushing activities and other heavy industrial construction operations.
- Conduct jobsite inspections, safety observations, and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices.
- Review and monitor compliance with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and safety procedures.
- Assist with incident reporting, near-miss documentation, investigations, and corrective action tracking.
- Provide safety coaching and guidance to field employees, contractors, and vendor partners.
- Support emergency response activities in coordination with the project nurse and site safety team.
- Communicate safety expectations effectively with site management, project leadership, and field personnel.
- Maintain accurate daily safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
Required Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of heavy industrial construction field safety experience.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safety regulations.
- Experience conducting field safety inspections, compliance monitoring, and hazard identification.
- Strong knowledge of PPE requirements and JHA/JSA development and implementation.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with site management, contractors, and field personnel.
