Job Summary
The Buyer Direct will be based in Dundalk, Ireland reporting to Supply Chain Manager.
This role will be coordinating activities involved with procuring direct materials, components and equipment.
What a typical day looks like:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for assigned product families, ensuring timely order placement, delivery, and closure.
- Achieve KPI targets while supporting inventory objectives and collaborating effectively with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams to meet business goals.
- Ensure material availability by procuring raw materials, components, and packaging in line with production schedules, MPS requirements, and business needs.
- Support production continuity through effective planning, management of material requirements, and timely resolution of supply constraints.
- Provide suppliers with accurate demand updates, and order schedules, ensuring clear communication of requirements.
- Manage supplier performance, including expediting/de-expediting orders, monitoring delivery commitments, and mitigating supply risks.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive collaboration, responsiveness, continuous improvement, and service performance.
- Ensure MRP-related procurement data accuracy by identifying required changes and coordinating updates with the relevant master data owner.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Studying IIPMM/APICS
- Educated to Degree level – Business / Procurement - or equivalent experience
- Ability to use Excel at Intermediate level
- Experience of using ERP systems
- Ability to act as a Team player, or independently, and with multiple activities
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of MRP
- Eligible to work in Ireland (EU)
