An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Catering Sales Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering a period of parental leave. Working closely with and reporting to the Director of Catering & Conference Services, you will be responsible for securing Catering business across all market segments. You will create and prospect long lasting new accounts, generate leads and maintain key relationships.
We are looking for someone with superior communication skills, one who is able to vary their style to suit a wide internal audience whilst maintaining and strengthening relationships with key corporate clients and partners. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will have a hunger for results, a thirst for providing a memorable guest experience, be a savvy negotiator and influencer, a swift decision maker and will enjoy the challenge of multi-tasking whilst meeting tight deadlines.
What you will do:
Driving Catering Sales by negotiating with clients to achieve maximum revenue/profit potential whilst satisfying our clients needs. Negotiating the type and costs of services to be provided within contract and budget
Finalise all bookings, maximizing all revenue potential by upselling in all revenue producing areas
Work closely with the catering planning managers and all key hotel operational departments to ensure the clients satisfaction
Foster a strong working relationship with fellow sales and marketing team members to provide smooth and efficient planning in the lead up to conferences/events and group stays
Work together with our on-site AV company to confirm audio visual needs for conferences and events, as well as other outside suppliers and contractors engaged by the client or hotel to provide services
Coordinate and negotiate the sales efforts between sales department and catering to insure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues
What you will bring:
At least 2 years previous experience in a events sales role in a large operation
Able to prioritize and work through multiple files and tasks simultaneously
Strong communication and rapport building skills with internal and external clients
Solid local market knowledge
Sound knowledge of computer systems
