Operations & Engineering Co-op/Intern Summer 2027

 

Where will you work: Bartow Manufacturing Facility: 3200 Hwy 60 West. Bartow, FL 33831.  

Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates. 

 

As an Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern, you will provide technical support primarily to plant operations groups from troubleshooting complex systems to optimizing production processes. Term 

May 11 to August 21, 2027

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-44 hours a week on site.

9/80 schedule if applicable

 

What will you do? 

Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:

  • Identify and resolve root causes of issues in phosphoric acid processing and production systems.

  • Evaluate and enhance the performance of unit operations in the Phosphoric Acid department.

  • Observe work during a turnaround outage and participate in equipment inspections.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of digital tools for operations.

  • Perform duties as assigned.

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), maintenance, automation, lab personnel, and contractors.

  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.

  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

 

What do you need for this role? 

  • Junior level or higher by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • 2.75 GPA or higher 

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.

  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

  • Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship

  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

  • Basic computer skills are required.

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must.

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
