## What you’ll do:
EIIC has an opening for Senior Engineer – Embedded Electronics within the Aerospace business. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and validation of embedded electronic hardware for Aerospace controllers (LRUs), ensuring compliance with customer requirements and applicable aerospace standards. The role focuses on analog and digital circuit design, microcontroller-based systems, embedded interfaces, board bring-up, testing, and product qualification.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits including signal conditioning, filters, op-amps, sensor interfaces, and power supply circuits.
- Develop embedded hardware platforms using Microcontrollers, Processors, FPGA, memory devices (RAM/Flash), and peripheral interfaces for Aerospace & Electrical Application.
- Perform component selection, circuit analysis, derating, and design trade-off studies.
- Create schematics, support PCB design reviews, and ensure manufacturable designs.
- Design and integrate communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet, and other embedded communication protocols.
- Collaborate with firmware teams for hardware-software integration and system validation.
- Support board bring-up, debugging, functional verification, and root cause analysis.
- Perform circuit simulations using tools such as LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent.
- Conduct hardware validation, environmental testing, and qualification activities in accordance with Aerospace standards (DO-160, DO-254).
- Support EMI/EMC pre-compliance, qualification, and reliability testing.
- Utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and environmental test setups for debugging and validation.
- Prepare and maintain Product Specifications, Hardware Design Documents, Test Procedures, Qualification Test Plans (QTP), Qualification Test Reports (QTR), and verification documents.
- Ensure adherence to Aerospace, Eaton, and customer quality processes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Execute development activities through the ProLaunch process.
- Collaborate with system, firmware, mechanical, thermal, and PCB design engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Develop work estimates, track progress, and manage technical deliverables.
- Apply Six Sigma, DFSS, and engineering best practices to improve product quality and development efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging embedded electronics, microcontroller, communication, and PCB technologies
## Qualifications:
Required: Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Power Electronics / Electronics/Engineering with 8+ Years of extensive experience in Embedded Electronics / Electronics Design.
## Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in Embedded Electronics Hardware Design & Development, preferably in Aerospace/Avionics applications.
- Experience leading hardware development projects and mentoring small engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience with 8/16/32-bit Microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs, memories, and peripheral interfaces.
- Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design, including signal conditioning, sensor interfaces, data acquisition, and embedded control systems.
- Good understanding of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Proficient in circuit simulation and analysis using LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent tools.
- Experience performing FMEA, Stress, Derating, Worst-Case, and Tolerance Analysis.
- Hands-on experience in board bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and hardware validation.
- Experience with EMI/EMC pre-compliance, environmental, reliability, and qualification testing.
- Knowledge of Aerospace standards including DO-160, DO-254, IEC, and SAE requirements.
- Hands-on use of lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Function Generators, and Spectrum Analyzers.
- Experience in preparing hardware design documents, test procedures, qualification plans, and certification artifacts.
- Familiarity with PCB design/reviews, configuration management, and product development lifecycle processes.
- Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related field.
- Experience in Aerospace LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) development and certification programs.Exposure to Six Sigma, DFSS, and reliability engineering practices.
