2027 Spring Intern - Analytical Method Validation and Tech Transfer

Department Summary

The Analytical Method Validation and Tech Transfer team is a group of dedicated scientists, balancing technical validation expertise with cross-functional leadership, overseeing end-to-end project-based validation/transfer activities across the GNE and global Roche network. 

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.

The Opportunity

The primary goal is to support the characterization of new control lots utilized globally for analytical method development and system suitability. The intern will play a critical role in bridging clinical and commercial activities, ensuring consistent method performance across the global network.

• Support data trending and statistical evaluation for new method control lots.
• Organize, source, and mine technical reports and manufacturing records to support future method control lot production and forecast future material demand.
• Perform analytical laboratory work (e.g., HPLC, IEC, CE-SDS) for comparability assessments and characterization of critical reagents.
• Map usage data across cross-functional departments to establish centralized databases and streamline material replenishment.
• Support design space characterization and data sourcing to aid regulatory filings and lifecycle method implementation.

Program Highlights

• Intensive 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
• Program start dates are in January 2027 (Spring).
• A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Who You Are (Required) 

Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

• Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).
• Must have attained a Master's Degree.
• Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
• Must have attained a PhD.

Required Majors: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related disciplines.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience and proficiency using AI tools to design presentations, organize data, draft documents, or model data variability.
• Practical experience or familiarity with analytical chromatography techniques (e.g., HPLC, IEC, CE-SDS).
• Background in data trending, statistical analysis, or managing technical record databases.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $28.00-$52.00 per hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
