Job Summary
Leads the research and development strategy to drive innovation and technology advancement. Lead the creation of new products and systems, ensuring align with the business strategy and drive growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovation and cost leadership with speed and quality to achieve business goals.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Develop and implement R&D strategies and roadmaps that support the business & innovation direction and key initiatives.
• R&D Portfolio management, including new offers, existing offers, platforms with supported business case.
• Oversee R&D project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for projects delivery.
• Manages R&D team performance on speed, cost & quality.
• Manage R&D cost to ensure budget compliance.
• Drives own R&D organization on footprint, competence, efficiency and productivity improvement.
• Lead, manage, and mentor the R&D team, fostering a culture of creativity, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate internally (such as product management, operations, quality etc.) and externally (suppliers, partners etc.) for business success.
• Collaborate with research, IP, S&R etc. and other business R&D for innovation excellence.
• Maintain a competitive edge, stay current on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to identify new opportunities.
Critical Experiences
• Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology Management is required to provide a strong foundation in technical knowledge and strategic innovation leadership.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in R&D management within technology-driven industries, including proven success in leading teams, managing budgets, and delivering innovation projects aligned with business objectives.
• No specific licenses required; however, certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma) are critical to ensure effective execution and total quality management of R&D activities.
