Short Description
The Receptionist/Clerk Expeditor serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff, providing professional and courteous customer service while supporting efficient department operations. This role is responsible for greeting patients, coordinating patient flow, telephone communications, records management, and administrative support. The Receptionist ensures the accuracy and confidentiality of patient information, facilitates communication between patients and clinical staff, and contributes to a safe, high-quality healthcare environment. In addition, this position supports patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and the mission and standards of Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional through exceptional service and operational excellence.

Highly developed customer service and phone etiquette skills required. The ability to assimilate into a small department and work independently.Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient information.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Must possess excellent telephone communication skills to speak clearly and effectively to the patient.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.Ability to learn and utilize programs necessary to position.
Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology required. Experience with medical computer systems, i.e. EPIC and PACS preferred
