Controller Testing Technician

Position Summary

The Controller Testing Technician will be responsible for electrical inspection, testing, calibration, and certification of wired control cabinets and equipment in accordance with Electrical Wiring Diagrams (EWD). The role requires hands-on experience with multimeters, master calibration meters, electrical crimping tools, and high-voltage three-phase distribution panels. The technician will verify wiring and electrical parameters, ensure compliance with quality requirements, and provide electrical certification for the next process. The role also requires the ability to interpret and sketch electrical CAD drawings and work across different shifts, including night shifts.

What You'll Do

• Study and interpret Electrical Wiring Diagrams (EWD) and use them as the basis for equipment inspection and testing.
• Perform detailed electrical inspection of wired control cabinets and verify wiring against the approved EWD.
• Use multimeters effectively to inspect equipment and verify required electrical parameters.
• Issue electrical inspection/certification to authorize equipment movement to the next process.
• Operate and handle master calibration meters for equipment calibration activities.
• Perform manual crimping using appropriate tools for various electrical terminals, including insulated, half-insulated, high-voltage AC, and micro-DC terminals.
• Identify and verify cable sizes according to EWD requirements.
• Handle and work with high-voltage and high-current distribution panels, including three-phase main supply systems.
• Ensure testing and inspection activities are performed in accordance with defined quality and safety requirements.
• Prepare or sketch electrical CAD drawings as required.
• Maintain appropriate inspection and testing records.
• Work effectively across different shifts, including night shifts.

Basic Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in equipment testing and calibration.
• Hands-on experience in electrical inspection and testing of equipment/control cabinets.
• Experience working with high-voltage and three-phase electrical systems.

Preferred Technical Qualifications

• Experience in equipment testing, electrical inspection, and calibration.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical Wiring Diagrams (EWD).
• Proficiency in using multimeters and calibration equipment.
• Experience with manual crimping tools and different electrical terminals.
• Experience with high-voltage/high-current distribution panels.
• Ability to prepare or interpret electrical CAD drawings.
• Certificate in Electrical CAD Drawing is preferred.
• Strong attention to electrical safety, testing accuracy, and quality.
• Willingness to work in different shifts, including night shifts.
