Position Summary:

Executes activities to ensure accurate financial and margin results through the proper assignment of cost and sales agreements to drive profitable case growth of Categories. Executes activities to minimize all purchasing cost issues such as PO/Invoice errors, repayments, credit claims, and samples. Support category management analytics, item setup, promotion tracking, and vendor billbacks.

Essential Functions:

• Analyzes vendor cost changes with Category Management.
• Executes vendor purchasing agreements with Category Management and Vendor Receivables.
• Shares info to support marketing, bids, buyers, and supply chain analysts.
• Resolves cost and repay issues with A/P and V/R.
• Supports Category and Pricing Teams as needed.
• Provides analysis and recommendations to assist in the approval of cost changes in collaboration with Category Management Teams.
• Analysts Supporting: Responsible for the accurate implementation and maintenance of invoice cost and other cost factors in SAP or Agora  for all stocked items across all GFS Stores.
• Responsible for managing costs on GFS’s purchase orders via EDI, email, and fax.
• Works with Accounts Payable and vendor community to resolve any cost related discrepancies between a GFS purchase order and a vendor invoice.
• Monitors and executes plans to improve vendors VIP results. 
• Supports new vendor and item setup as needed.
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of long term purchasing agreements in collaboration with the National Category and Vendor Receivables Team.
• Supports growth and accuracy in margin through continuous audits of vendor agreements.
• Supports category managers with assortment and lane analysis.  
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Strong math aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and detail orientation with excellent written/verbal communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Proactive, positive attitude with high integrity and a commitment to continuous learning and success both independently and in team settings.

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

• Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, database, email and internet software applications.  
• Advanced knowledge supporting ERP applications specific to GFS Canada or GFS US assignments.  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field required
• Two years buyer, cost administrator or supply chain buyer experience required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
