Description
The Department of Medicine at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Keck School of Medicine, is seeking a Clinical Administrator to manage the General Internal Medicine and Allergy-Immunology Division. This is a new position for a rapidly growing division within the Department of Medicine, one of 11 Divisions, with a focus on providing primary internal medicine and allergy care throughout the Keck Medicine network. The ideal candidate should be motivated to succeed, be an emotionally intelligent leader, be able to multi-task in a high-energy environment, be able to produce high quality and accurate results while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.
Under the direction of the division chief, this position is responsible for managing and overseeing clinical, administrative, financial, educational, and research operations for a large and dynamic division with multiple on- and off-campus practice locations and a significant role in both the Los Angeles County Medical Center (LAGMC) residency program and the new Keck School of Medicine residency program.
The General Internal Medicine & Allergy-Immunology Division is home to about 40 clinical faculty members who are involved in patient care at Keck Health Sciences Campus clinics and LAGMC, as well as locations in Arcadia, Pasadena, UPC, DTLA, La Canada, Beverly Hills, and Verdugo Hills. In addition to supporting the faculty, the administrator hires, trains, and supervises any other administrative staff positions in the division and provides administrative oversight for any programmatic, educational, and research staff. The administrator oversees and manages about $10M in annual revenue.
As point person for the division and a representative for the department, this position requires excellence in communication and professionalism. Also vital is proactive planning, collaboration, and professional partnering with other departments and institutions, hospital and Keck School of Medicine leadership, and various business units and partners. Knowledge and skill requirements include clinical operations and revenue cycle management, ability to manage and support many individuals with varying skill sets, and a strong understanding of the academic medical center infrastructure and operational processes.
This position will be Exempt and Hybrid-Flex.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Required Work Experience: 3 years of experience
Preferred Education: Master’s degree
Preferred Experience: 4+ years of experience in academic healthcare administration
Preferred Field of Expertise: Management of large, multi-faceted or specialized medical school environments with thorough knowledge of medical practice plan administration and financial accounting.
