LOCATION:
Sacramento Office, 8680 Orangevale; Expected to work onsite 2 days per week. Remote work is permitted on other workdays, or more frequently, subject to business needs.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Construction Project Manager for In-Shape is responsible for leading and coaching the Construction Project Managers, as well as, overseeing Project Management activities related to Construction: remodels, new construction, etc. In this role, the Sr. Construction Project Manager will organize and provide tools that support success for all stakeholders within the project, including but not limited to In-Shape management and team, contractors, engineers, consultants, design professionals, and our members.
The Sr. Construction Project Manager must be competent in, and lead team members through, budgeting, bid document production, control, & management, scheduling and phasing, cost management, contracts, project reporting, coordination of Commissioning, and full turn-key delivery of projects from Design through Closeout and Warranty. Success in this role will require the ability to successfully manage the team along with multiple complex capital projects simultaneously, while maintaining a positive work environment for the entire Project Team and stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Facilitate development of project plans, including producing scope narratives, proposed phasing, and conceptual estimates for distribution
- Provide regular and ongoing reporting to stakeholders via weekly Project reports and meetings
- Perform plan reviews for all plan revisions and ensure implementation of necessary revisions
- Develop and administer bid documents (including bid forms, alternates, schedules, etc..) and secure bids/administer bid process, evaluate bids, and provide award recommendations
- Manage budget and maintain cost, billing status, and project numbering for all projects
- Administer construction contracts and maintain document control and insurance monitoring
- For self-managed construction (i.e., multiple prime), coordinate trades as required and/or interface with SVP of Capital Projects and Revenue Development or other designates to accomplish the work
- Administrate project-level communication including construction progress meetings, RFIs, Submittals, Scope Revisions, Change Orders, etc., including associated recommendations
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or safety and/or construction problems
- Manage requisitions for supplies or materials to complete construction projects
- Manage Closeout process for projects, incl. Punch-lists, Commissioning and O&M production
- Attend staff and cross-functional meetings as conducted by the SVP of Capital Projects & Revenue Development, or other functional leaders as required
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Leadership and Team Development
- Mentor and develop team members while holding them accountable to project scope, budget, and deadlines
- Manage and coach team members through Closeout process for projects
- Communicate with Team members regularly through scheduled meetings and regular check ins
- Communicate regularly and often with SVP of Capital Projects and Revenue Development on project progress, changes, and deadlines
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with outside partners and contractors and communicate if challenges arise.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS – WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor’s degree in related studies field, or three years of relevant experience preferred
- 3+ years of experience in Project Management; ideally Construction Project Management
- Advanced in MS Office with an emphasis on Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, & Teams
- Experience in MS Project or other PM software programs (i.e., ProCore, CMIC, etc.) a plus
- Basic skills in plan review, scope review, and review of architectural documents
- Literacy with construction contracts, bid evaluation, estimating, scheduling, phasing, plan review, budgets, and coordination of documents with various teams and consultants
- Proven experience facilitating and documenting meeting notes, including bids, construction progress, departmental and inter-departmental meetings
- Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple tasks concurrently, adapting to change, working with team members at all levels of the organization portfolio-wide
- Self-sufficient and results-oriented; able to execute and problem solve in a professional, fast-paced, creative, team-oriented environment, building consensus as needed
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong and accurate data entry skills
- Displays good judgment, confidentiality, and diplomacy in handling important company information and communicating with others
- Estimated travel time will be targeted at 50%
- Must have and maintain a driving record that supports unrestricted operation of a motor vehicle, including no major driving violations (such as DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, or license suspension) within the past three years
- Must have and maintain current, state-required auto insurance coverage and have reliable transportation adequate to meet the role’s regular regional travel requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk, stand, and move throughout club facilities and outdoor areas for up to 8 hours per day, and may also sit for extended periods for planning and administrative work. Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, pool chemicals, dust, noise, temperature fluctuations (hot and cold environments), and airborne particles, and will be required to wear designated personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed.
Team members are frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools and equipment; reach, push, and pull with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to bend and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to lift, carry, or move up to 25 pounds, will often be required to lift, carry, or move 26–50 pounds.
