As a combined portfolio, we serve a wide range of customers: from adventure-seeking enthusiasts who make boating a lifestyle to first-timers celebrating life's special moments. We're building brands that blend storytelling, utility, and a deep love for the outdoors. We're looking for a Senior Communications Manager to help shape our business and consumer narrative with a modern press strategy.
What we offer
- Fully remote environment: Flexibility and trust that our team will do and deliver their best work
- Globally distributed team: International learnings and collaboration within an inclusive and diverse culture and time for focus work
- Transparency: Open communication is key to our culture. You can feel free to chat with anyone, are empowered to share ideas, ask questions and challenge the status quo in a way that moves the company and team forward
- Beloved Consumer Brand: Your work will be seen and used by millions of people in order to book their most memorable vacation experiences
We’re looking for
As the Senior Communications Manager, you'll shape how the companies show up in the world. You'll own the communications strategy and translate business, product and brand happenings into compelling stories that redefine the category. This includes thought leadership, SEO/AEO, brand campaigns, and engaging new media to shape the narrative and how we’re perceived. This is a role for someone who thinks about creating culture and news, plus knows how to leverage reactive moments. You'll be a close partner to the CMO and Brand Marketing Director, helping raise the bar as we build the brand.
What you’ll do
- Manage and evolve Boatsetter and Getmyboat, identifying communications opportunities for both platforms and driving differentiation within each.
- Develop big picture comms strategy and manage day-to-day executional functions.
- Serve as comms lead across four communications pillars: thought leadership, SEO/AEO, campaigns and new media.
- Cultivate and deepen relationships with top-tier journalists, newsletter writers, and podcasters shaping how people understand our offering.
- Reach our target audiences where they are: generating high-impact coverage across business, consumer, and lifestyle/outdoor press, as well as creative placements beyond traditional media.
- Partner with the CEO on thought leadership to secure interviews, speaking opportunities and build a social media presence.
- Collaborate with marketers and product managers to bring campaigns and features to market that ultimately drive interest, new users and eventually bookings.
- Translate strategic goals into sharp, fresh narratives, comms strategies and pitches.
- Manage comms from strategy to execution for product launches, company milestones, and data reports.
- Partner with the Brand Marketing Director on brand storytelling, campaigns, and earned activations.
Who you are
- 6–8+ years of professional communications experience, with a track record of adapting and building business and consumer narratives that secure top tier coverage.
- Strong portfolio showing strategic and innovative thinking plus how you’ve built meaningful relationships with key outlets and new media.
- Experience building and managing executive communications strategy including press, speaking opportunities, and building a social presence.
- Ability to shift between scrappy execution and polished, big-idea work.
- Strong attention to detail and writing skills.
- Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
- Experience in outdoors, sports, and/or travel is a plus.
