A Day in the Life
A Day in The Life Of:
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Conduct time studies and work measurement activities to support labour planning, productivity improvements and capacity analysis
- Support the execution of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma and MPS methodologies
- Coach and support teams in the application of Medtronic Performance System (MPS) tools and principles
- Facilitate problem-solving activities using DMAIC, A3, root cause analysis and other structured improvement methodologies
- Deliver Yellow Belt training and provide ongoing support to Yellow Belt candidates throughout project completion
- Support Value Stream Assessments (VSAs), kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops
- Analyse operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities and performance gaps
- Develop and maintain capacity models to support manufacturing planning and decision making
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams to identify, prioritise and execute improvement opportunities
- Support site metric reviews and performance management processes through data collection and analysis
- Develop reports, presentations and visual management materials to communicate project progress and business impact
- Contribute to the development of a continuous improvement culture through coaching, mentoring and employee engagement activities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable site procedures, policies and regulatory requirements
- Support internal and external audits as required and maintain appropriate project documentation
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (Level 8 NFQ preferred) in Engineering, Science, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline
- Minimum of 1-year relevant experience in Operational Excellence, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related function within a regulated environment preferred
- Yellow Belt certification required; Green Belt certification desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Medtronic Performance System (MPS) tools and Lean principles
- Understanding of Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively
- Experience conducting time studies, work measurement and capacity analysis is desirable
- Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Ability to facilitate teams and drive engagement across cross-functional groups
- Effective project management and organisational skills
- Technical writing and presentation skills
- Ability to multitask, work independently and take initiative
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong learning agility and a passion for continuous improvement
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with others; shows respect and consideration for others
