Our Engineers at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facility take our aircraft from concept to customer delivery – working with production teams on every aspect of assembly from managing technical information, quality control, maintenance tasks and health & safety – along flowlines and flightlines. Your working environment:
Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:
- Support identifying Non-Conformities (NCs) on the shopfloor.
- Support assessing the need to create NCs and NC Notifications.
- Support on filling the NC form by providing all relevant information and supporting on solving the NC.
- Support on following up the NC process and push for resolution.
- Support on identifying issues in production as well as problems not solvable by the FLM and operators and escalate/request support to the Work Prep (PE), Line Balancing (PPE), Maintenance, MAP & OSW or support function roles.
- Support of the analysis of the industrial systems and processes to assess their efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support on the Work Improvement Proposal (WIP) as well as on the elimination of waste (LEAN).
- Support is given on the process validation form (PVF) and failure analysis (FA).
- Support on the request for repair and the creation of specific requests for small tools.
- Support on writing the specification for the creation of new jigs and tools as well as the modification or improvement of existing jigs and tools and their calibration.
- Support on filling the template for the parachevement as well as.
- Support in assessing the parachevement request with the Multifunctional Team (MFT).
- Support (if not in the same SAP system) in securing that the attested parachevement template will be returned to the requester.
- Support on flagging blocked work orders so that it can be discussed at the PPC (Production Place Control (in AI)/Level 2 (in ADS) Meeting.
- Further support is given to the Production to prioritize the Execution of the Serial and Rework Work Order if linked to NC, Concession or Blocking Point.
- Support on making EH&S rules transparent on the shopfloor.
- Support on ensuring EH&S standards are applied on the station.
- Support on cascading the EH&S requirements to the shopfloor.
- Support on identifying and solving Near Misses.
- Support in ensuring that production processes and standards are applied on the station.
Your boarding pass:
A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology or equivalent years of experience is required.
Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in Aerospace, preferably in an Aerospace Final Assembly Line.
Have the ability to establish and maintain a good relationship with all internal customers.
Have the ability to work in an international team.
Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to present clear and concise briefings and reports to customers and executives.
Knowledge of Airbus Industries mechanical process & methods.
Knowledge of Airbus IT-Tools (Zamiz, TAKSY, DocMaster, ECM).
Knowledge of common applications such as SAP/R3 (Module PP/PM).
Knowledge about aircraft structure installation.
Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing.
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and practice.
Required: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs).
Candidate should be able to work autonomously on their own scope of work under normal circumstances, and be prepared to request support and escalate appropriately in abnormal situations.
Candidate should be able to make decisions related to their own scope of work in a predefined context.
Ability to build/maintain strong relationships with all internal and external customers.
Physical Requirements:

Vision: Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
Hearing: Able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Pushing / Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
Sitting: Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
Squatting / Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice, potentially internationally.
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
