Description

MISSION

Mirum Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming the treatment of rare diseases. We are passionate about advancing scientific discoveries to become important medicines for rare disease patients. We are collaborative, creative, and experienced professionals and we’re looking to augment our team with other individuals who embody our values: care, be real, get it done, and have fun, seriously.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director, Marketing will serve as the commercial lead for Hepatitis Delta (HDV) diagnostics and patient finding, with responsibility for building scalable capabilities that increase testing, identify undiagnosed patients, understand ‘diagnostic leakage’ and improve the pathway from diagnosis through referral to appropriate care.

This role will focus on building sustainable patient-identification infrastructure across the HDV diagnostic and referral systems helping translate pre-launch investment into a more visible, connected and launch-ready patient population.  The Associate Director will lead commercial initiatives designed to increase HDV testing, expand appropriate reflex and double-reflex testing approaches, reduce barriers within the diagnostic journey, and accelerate identification of patients living with HDV.

The Associate Director will serve as a key leader in U.S. HDV market development, identifying structural barriers to diagnosis and developing scalable solutions that improve patient identification and strengthen diagnostic and referral pathways.  Working closely with Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Commercial Analytics, Field Teams, Market Access, and other cross-functional partners, the Associate Director will translate market, customer, diagnostic, and community insights into actionable programs. The role will also build strategic partnerships with diagnostic laboratories, health systems, community organizations, and other external stakeholders to develop and scale innovative approaches to patient identification.

This role is ideal for a strategic, entrepreneurial, analytical, and highly collaborative professional who is comfortable building new capabilities, testing innovative approaches, and driving initiatives from strategy through execution and measurement.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain a multi-year HDV patient-identification and diagnostics roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on patient impact, scalability, feasibility, investment requirements, and contribution to U.S. launch readiness.
  • Lead the development and execution of the U.S. commercial diagnostics and patient-finding strategy for HDV, with accountability for increasing testing, diagnosis, and linkage to appropriate care.
  • Develop implementation frameworks that enable health systems and laboratory partners to operationalize and sustain appropriate HDV testing pathways, including workflow redesign, stakeholder engagement, education, technology enablement and performance measurement.
  • Lead commercial initiatives designed to increase adoption of appropriate HDV testing approaches, including reflex and double-reflex testing within health systems and laboratory workflows.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with national and regional diagnostic laboratories, health systems, and other testing organizations to expand access to and simplify HDV testing.
  • Identify barriers and develop scalable diagnostic solutions that improve testing workflows and enable more consistent identification of patients with HDV.
  • Lead innovative patient-finding pilots utilizing appropriate data and technology, including electronic medical records, claims data, population-health approaches, and other emerging capabilities.
  • Partner with Commercial Analytics to identify geographic, demographic, health-system, and provider opportunities for increased HDV testing and diagnosis.
  • Develop and execute community activation strategies focused on populations and geographies with elevated potential burden of HDV.
  • Build partnerships in collaboration with patient advocacy with community organizations, healthcare systems, and other appropriate stakeholders to develop culturally relevant disease education, testing, and linkage-to-care initiatives.
  • Translate diagnostic, field, customer, and community insights into actionable commercial strategies and programs.
  • Develop annual operating plans and manage budgets for diagnostics, patient-finding initiatives, pilots, partnerships, agencies, and external vendors, ensuring investments are prioritized against strategic objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop tools, resources, and initiatives that support appropriate HDV testing consistent with applicable clinical recommendations and testing pathways
  • Partner closely with Field Teams to identify local testing barriers and opportunities and develop scalable solutions that support patient identification.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Market Access, Commercial Operations and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of diagnostics and community priorities.
  • Establish clear objectives and appropriate leading and lagging performance measures for diagnostics and patient-finding programs, including testing adoption, workflow implementation, diagnostic completion, referral pathway effectiveness, time to diagnosis/referral, program reach, sustainability, scalability, and other appropriate measures, in partnership with Analytics and relevant governance functions.
  • Analyze program performance and continuously optimize strategies based on data, market insights, customer feedback, and pilot learnings.
  • Create and identify successful pilot programs and develop approaches for scaling them across priority markets, health systems, and communities.
  • Contribute U.S. market insights and best practices to broader regional and global diagnostic planning and capability development.
  • Manage agencies, vendors, diagnostic partners, and other external organizations, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Ensure all programs and partnerships are developed and executed in accordance with applicable regulatory, legal, privacy, and compliance requirements. Ensure patient-finding initiatives utilizing claims, EMR, laboratory, population-health, or other healthcare data are designed and executed in accordance with applicable privacy requirements, data-use agreements, company policies, and appropriate Legal and Compliance guidance.
