THE OPPORTUNITY – LEAD INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN, OFFSHORE

The Lead Instrument Technician acts as the offshore discipline technical expert supporting the Maintenance Team Lead and Production Team Lead to ensure safe and cost-effective maintenance and responsive breakdown maintenance of plant and equipment.

Duration:  Core role required until Cease of Production (est 2028)

Location: Offshore

Rotation/Hours: 2 weeks on/3 weeks off working a 12-hour day

Overtime: Payable at 1.25%/hr

Crew Change: Blackpool

No travel allowance payable for mobilisation.

AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…

In role, you will be accountable for:

  • Working as part of the Offshore Operations team, this role is key to ensuring the day-to-day operation of maintenance/production activities. This role has significant input into the development of work scopes within their area and ensures that expenditure is controlled according to budget, liaising with Maintenance Team Lead and Production Team Lead to ensure that all activities are undertaken in a co-ordinated and effective manner
  • Acting as the technical authority, is responsible for advising and guiding the Maintenance Team Lead in discipline specific maintenance issues. Acting as the interface with Aberdeen and Barrow on technical issues and co-ordinating the services of technical specialists, service contractors and vendor personnel to effectively maintain facilities whilst minimising support costs
  • Reporting directly to the Maintenance Team Lead, the Lead Technician is responsible for the supervision of a team of technicians and craftsmen - both staff and contractors. Responsible for ensuring teams are competent and that the balance of competencies exists at all times to enable the team to be in a position to carry out the work and meet any changing demands the operations may place on them
  • Carrying out intervention duties and/or provide cover for the Maintenance Team Lead when required

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge of production/maintenance operations gained through experience of working in the oil and gas industry
  • Team leader skills, underpinned by supervisory experience.
  • In depth knowledge of CMMS and work preparation
  • Training in aspects of Emergency Response, and carry out ERT roles, such as ERT Leader.
  • Current valid Offshore Survival, Offshore Medical and MIST
  • CompEx – Ex 01 - 04
  • TSBT01 Assessment - Assemble and Install Small Bore Tubing Assemblies – Twin Ferrule 
  • TSBT 02 Assessment - Disassemble and Reinstall Small Bore Tubing Assemblies – Twin Ferrule
