Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a System Engineering Section Manager on the STRIKE program to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

The selected candidate manages a section of Systems Engineers reporting to the Specialty Engineering Department Manager within the STRIKE Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Engineering Integration & Execution (EI&E) on a 20% allocation. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies as well as maintaining their current technical statement of work for the remaining 80% of the work week.

Management responsibilities include: planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a system/mission thread work packages, subsystems, or related group of work packages or across multiple interrelated programs with full responsibility for all aspects of technical performance on large system development-type contracts, large delivery orders or mid-size technical services-type contracts.

Essential Functions:

• Conducts weekly flow down meetings with assigned staff

• Attends weekly flow down meetings with the Department Manager

• Supports staffing needs as assigned

• Conducts goal planning, performance evaluations merit budgeting

• Provides technical guidance related to process and training to staff

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years engineering experience - OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of engineering experience

• Recently demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering practices

• Candidate must have and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD Secret or Top Secret level and Special Program Access.

• Candidate must have the ability to obtain a Strike Program Access Request (PAR)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced STEM Degree

• Experience in one or more of the following Specialty Engineering Disciplines: system safety engineering

• Previous Systems Engineering leadership experience.

• Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

• Active, In scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance

• Previous or existing Strike Program Access Request (PAR)

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
