Senior Lead, AI Governance

The Senior Lead, AI Governance will direct an AI Governance and Adoption team supporting a sports and entertainment client. This leader will help stakeholders identify high-value AI opportunities, navigate due diligence, apply approved controls, and responsibly adopt enterprise AI capabilities. The role connects governance to adoption through practical, prescriptive, and customer-facing guidance grounded in how modern AI applications and agents are designed, evaluated, monitored, and used.

The Impact You’ll Have:

The Senior Lead, AI Governance will combine governance leadership, applied AI fluency, team management, and stakeholder consulting to set standards, evaluate designs, guide implementation, and engage the right cross functional teams to drive the responsible adoption of AI.

What You'll Do:

Lead the AI Governance and Adoption Team

• Lead, coach, and develop a small team of stakeholder-facing AI Governance and Adoption specialists.
• Establish a consistent engagement model, service catalog, playbooks, templates, service levels, quality standards, and escalation paths.
• Set priorities and ensure the team delivers clear, practical guidance that supports responsible implementation and adoption.

Operationalize Governance for Adoption

• Support client stakeholders through formal reviews of AI applications, covering business purpose, data use, technical design, legal considerations, security, operational readiness, human oversight, and ongoing monitoring.
• Support periodic reviews and remediation activities proportionate to use-case risk and business impact.
• Partner with data governance, privacy, security, legal, and technology teams to define and operationalize requirements for data classification, ownership, approved use, minimization, retention, and deletion.
• Build credibility, create alignment, and move stakeholders toward decisions through clear, prescriptive guidance and practical tradeoffs.

Provide Communication and Reportiong to Leadership

• Maintain visibility into the AI use-case pipeline, approvals, adoption, exceptions, incidents, control effectiveness, stakeholder maturity, usage, and value realization.
• Provide concise reporting and recommendations to leadership, including key risks, decisions, dependencies, and escalation needs.
• Monitor evolving AI capabilities, platforms, risks, governance practices, standards, and regulations

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience across AI governance, technology governance, data governance, risk, security, privacy, AI product delivery, analytics, or related disciplines.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams or complex cross-functional programs in a customer-facing environment.
• Experience translating policy, standards, and risk requirements into practical operating procedures, design guidance, and implementation controls.
• Working knowledge of generative AI, enterprise LLM platforms, retrieval-augmented generation, AI applications, agents, model APIs, orchestration approaches, and evaluation practices.
• Understanding of data classification, minimization, identity and access management, logging, monitoring, retention, human oversight, incident management, and third-party risk.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption through partnership, credibility, and clear guidance.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, executive presentation, prioritization, and team leadership skills.

Future-Ready Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience building or scaling an enterprise Responsible AI or AI governance program across a federated organization, franchise system, business-unit network, or customer portfolio.
• Experience with information-protection and data-governance capabilities.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms and model providers such as Microsoft, Azure AI, AWS, Google Cloud, Anthropic, or OpenAI.
• Experience governing AI agents, service identities, tool use, agent permissions, evaluation harnesses, and LLM observability.
• Knowledge of NIST AI RMF, the NIST Generative AI Profile, ISO/IEC 42001, privacy requirements, and evolving AI standards and regulations.
• Experience in sports, media, entertainment, consumer data, or other environments involving sensitive information and semi-autonomous stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications in governance, risk, privacy, security, data management, cloud, or AI governance.
