Job Family Definition
Responsible for the execution of commodity and category strategies worldwide. Executes company procurement strategies, policies, and tactics required to achieve business objectives.
Ensures execution of procurement channel and category strategies in support of internal company projects and third-party products and services when incorporated into customer solutions, including purchasing and buying activities.
Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments, strategic procurement, and company business units to maintain inventories at planned levels, where applicable; ensure continuity and assurance of supply; maintain service levels; meet business requirements; and mitigate operational and supply chain risks. Responsibilities may also include inventory management.
At the non-exempt level, the role may assist with establishing and maintaining production control systems.
Management Level Definition
Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities and solve highly complex business and technical issues within established policies.
Manages activities of exempt individual contributors, typically at Expert/Master levels, and/or lower-level people managers. Has accountability for large multi-department areas or locations with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy.
Acts as a key advisor to senior management in the development of overall policies and long-term organizational goals. Plans, manages, and monitors high-level operational and tactical activities of staff. Team members primarily focus on high-level tactical initiatives, broad strategic matters, or a combination of both.
Recruits and supports the professional development of direct staff members. The position typically reports to a Director-level leader or above.
Additional Guidance/Criteria: Manages and controls activities within a sub-region or region. Typically manages 10 or more direct reports. Span-of-control guidelines may vary depending on organizational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for aligning internal objectives with external market realities to maximize the efficiency of technologies, processes, and solutions, ensuring performance meets overall business needs.
- Manages a team of senior-level exempt individual contributors and lower-level people managers with strategic implications across organizations and/or functions.
- Responsible for hiring, establishing and monitoring annual performance plans, coaching, and career development, while ensuring the appropriate tools and resources are available to support the team and its processes.
- Ensures the delivery of products and services that meet performance metrics established by senior management and supports the design and implementation of performance measurement processes.
- Consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making across a broad organizational scope.
- Identifies and implements operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain through broad strategies and initiatives, influencing both internal and external partners.
- Plans, directs, and monitors staff activities from a strategic perspective, ensuring operations achieve key business metrics and organizational objectives.
- Oversees the development and delivery of complex initiatives with potential global supply chain impact, typically requiring leadership of cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
Education and Experience Required
- First-level university degree or equivalent professional experience; advanced university degree preferred.
- Typically 10+ years of experience in a supply chain function or related field.
- Typically 2–4 years of people management experience.

- Advanced knowledge of procurement and supply chain business requirements, processes, and strategies.
- Advanced written, verbal, and presentation skills tailored to a wide variety of audiences; mastery of English and the applicable local language.
