Principal AI Software Engineer

What's the role?

We are seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead AI-driven prototyping within our Automotive Solution engineering group. You will turn ideas into working, interactive prototypes and functional applications in days rather than weeks, using vibe coding with AI tools such as Claude, Kiro and Lovable. These prototypes are usable apps, released through app store test channels, so we can validate concepts with real users, OEM partners and customers.

The role combines design and engineering, bringing a strong product and user-experience perspective into engineering. Beyond building, you will raise the bar across the organization in using AI to create applications and designs. The focus is on applying AI to how we build.About the team: 

 

The Automotive Solutions team builds embedded and mobile solutions for daily navigation, routing, and location-based experiences, designed to perform reliably across regions, platforms, and real-world driving conditions. The focus is on delivering consistently high-quality user experience through strong engineering fundamentals and continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Rapid prototyping with vibe coding: Lead the Automotive Solutions prototyping activities, using vibe coding with AI tools such as Claude, Kiro and Lovable to turn product ideas into usable apps, proof-of-concept applications and demos
• Vibe coding practice: Make vibe coding a standard way of prototyping and as part of the product development cycle, from first prompt to a working, shareable application, and define when and how a prototype moves to production engineering
• Concept validation: Test prototypes with real users, stakeholders, OEM partners and customers, use feedback and analytics from test builds, and iterate quickly with product management, design and engineering
• AI enablement: Help product engineering teams prototype with vibe coding and use AI to create applications and designs, through shared practices, prompt and project templates, reusable components and hands-on coaching
• Tools and ways of working: Evaluate new vibe coding and AI design tools as the market evolves, and set practical guidelines for using them effectively and responsibly, including security, data protection and IP considerations
• Knowledge sharing: Run demos, workshops and brown bag sessions, and build an internal community of practice around vibe coding and AI-driven building
• Technical leadership: Advise engineering and product leadership on where AI-driven prototyping can accelerate the roadmap

Who are you?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction or Product Design, Human–Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of experience in digital product design, design engineering or application development, including hands-on prototyping
• Proven track record of prototyping through vibe coding with AI tools such as Claude, Kiro or Lovable, from first prompt to a usable app in the hands of test users, demonstrated through working prototypes or apps
• Experience publishing mobile apps to Apple App Store and Google Play test channels, such as TestFlight and Google Play internal testing, including builds, signing and store review requirements
• Ability to build stable, usable apps with AI-assisted development tools, with enough technical understanding to read, debug and adjust generated code
• Strong design and product thinking, with the ability to turn ambiguous ideas into usable experiences and test them with real users
• Experience coaching designers and engineers in adoption of new tools and ways of working
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, including presenting to senior stakeholders and customers
