About the role

Know Frame and Truss and ready for your next move?

Bunnings Frame and Truss is growing, and we’re looking for a Frame and Truss Detailer to join our team in Wacol, Brisbane.

You’ll work across residential projects, detailing timber Frames, Trusses and Floor Systems, including repeat housing designs and larger multiple-home projects. You’ll be backed by an experienced local team and a well-established Frame and Truss network across Australia.

A million ways to make an impact starts with the opportunity to use your experience, solve practical design challenges and help deliver quality outcomes for our customers.

This is an on-site role based at Wacol, working alongside our design and operations teams. Being together on site makes it easier to collaborate, work through design queries and stay connected with the team turning your detailing work into finished product.

What's involved

You’ll take residential construction plans and turn them into accurate, practical designs ready for manufacture.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Detail timber Frames, Trusses and Floor Systems for residential construction
  • Interpret building plans and translate them into accurate designs and material requirements
  • Work across individual builds, repeat housing designs and multiple-home projects
  • Use Pryda, AutoCAD and related detailing software
  • Work closely with Account Managers and customers to understand project requirements
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to resolve technical queries
  • Manage your detailing workload to meet agreed project timeframes
  • Share your knowledge and ideas as our Frame and Truss business continues to grow

You’ll have experienced people around you to learn from and plenty of opportunity to bring your own knowledge to the team. It’s all part of Inspiring you to give it a red hot go.

About You

You understand that good detailing is about more than producing a drawing. Accuracy and constructability matter, along with understanding how your work impacts customers, manufacturing and the people building onsite.

You may already be working as a Frame and Truss Detailer, or your experience might come from estimating, drafting, residential construction or a trade background. We’re also open to people with relevant construction qualifications who have the technical aptitude and motivation to develop their detailing career.

You’ll enjoy being part of a collaborative, on-site team where people can work through problems together, share knowledge and get the job done.

What you'll need

  • Frame and Truss, drafting, estimating or relevant residential construction experience
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and building plans
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, construction methods and products
  • Experience using engineering, drawing or detailing software
  • Experience with Pryda, AutoCAD or similar software will be highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to manage priorities and work to agreed timeframes
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider team

If you’re ready to put your Frame and Truss knowledge to work and want to be part of a team where your contribution can make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
