Description
BWE originates and sells multifamily Agency CMBS loans, primarily through Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae programs. As the company grows, the Capital Markets Desk is expanding the depth and frequency of its research, strengthening automated workflows, and developing broader coverage across commercial real estate finance.
BWE is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our team at an important stage of platform growth. The role sits close to the market and combines research, data ownership, pricing and rate-lock support, communication, automation, and relationship development. It is designed for an experienced analyst who can take meaningful ownership today while building toward broader capital markets responsibility as our platform scales.
What you'll do
- Own assigned market, pricing, historical, and transaction data from source through final output, including validations, exceptions, documentation, and pre-distribution review.
- Research fixed-income, Agency CMBS, macroeconomic, and CRE developments and translate them into supported, decision-useful market insights.
- Draft and present recurring commentary, research, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Support loan-pricing and rate-lock execution mechanics, including market inputs, pricing indications, transaction preparation, post transaction confirmations, and documentation.
- Use advanced Excel, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve workflows and analytical capacity while applying disciplined validation and human judgment.
- Partner with the Agency Analytics team and colleagues across production, underwriting, closing, finance, risk, compliance, operations, marketing, and technology.
- Develop productive relationships with broker/dealers, investors, Agencies, and internal clients while supporting market dialogue under trader direction.
- Help build research and market-intelligence coverage for additional BWE products, including but not limited to Life Company, private-label CMBS, and bridge lending.
- Contribute to future risk and scenario analytics as the platform evolves and provide guidance to junior team members as the team grows.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, data science, computer science, business administration, or a related field. Advanced Degree or active pursuit highly preferred.
- Generally 3+ years of relevant experience in fixed income, securitized products, Agency or commercial mortgage banking, valuation, research, trading support, or capital-markets analytics.
- Advanced Excel and financial-modeling skills; exposure to VBA, Python, SQL, Bloomberg, Salesforce, or related tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical judgment and an ability to move from data collection to interpretation, implications, and recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exposure in a time sensitive capital markets trading environment with foundational knowledge of financial markets
- A record of precise accuracy, follow-through, initiative, and effective work across multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Practical fluency with AI tools and sound judgment about their limitations, validation requirements, and appropriate use.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses, prior licensing, or active pursuit are a plus, not a requirement.
Keys to Success
- Curious. Asks better questions, tests assumptions, and turns unfamiliar topics into useful market insight.
- Accountable. Owns the quality of work from source to final output, including exceptions, corrections, and follow-through.
- Driven by urgency. Understands market time, anticipates what comes next, and sustains momentum without sacrificing accuracy - you have that extra gear.
- A clear communicator. Translates complex financial information into precise, audience-appropriate writing, presentations, and conversation.
- Relationship-minded. Builds trust through responsiveness, credibility, transparency, and consistent engagement with internal and external partners.
- Team-first. Treats shared results as personal commitments, helps others succeed, and raises issues early when outcomes are at risk.
- Enthusiastic. Brings energy to the work, embraces technology and feedback, and earns expanded responsibility through performance.
