Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the Commercial strategy including processes and procedures in the pursuit of winning work and achieving required Sales revenue/margin, budgets and targets
- Provide superior customer service and deliver a continual improvement in business growth in accordance with strategic objectives
- Establish and maintain relationships with key business customers at the appropriate level, to understand their objectives and ensure they are delivered
- Secure key targeted major opportunities and position the business as market choice
- Provide clients with material prices and technical information and manage enquiries
- Liaise with quarries to ensure material to suit customer needs are available at the correct times and provide effective communication to customers
- Compile reports with regards to weekly/monthly sales revenue; forecasting sales, recommendations on cost-effectiveness and annual budget
- Maintain a high degree of market and competitor awareness raising the profile and brand of the Breedon Group
- Develop a highly professional sales team through a strong performance management culture
- Motivate team to maximise commercial performance and foster good working relationships between departments
- Support the General Manager to establish and monitor KPIs and review those KPI’s with the Sales team
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject and/or have extensive relevant experience operating at a senior level within a commercial role
- Experience of the construction environment
- Commercially focused and ability to respond appropriately on your own to improve outcomes and process’s and assumes responsibility for your own performance
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a dynamic work environment
- Highly effective communicator and facilitator, able to collaborate across teams and levels
- Ability to develop strong and lasting customer relationships & value-added solutions
- Exceptional customer service skills with a strong work ethic
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) Word and experience with CRM software
- Attention to detail and a right first time attitude
