MAIN PURPOSE
Lead the Watchmaking activity by defining and implementing the global strategy for the category. This includes expanding the business, enhancing brand awareness and desirability, ensuring profitability and nurturing brand equity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Define category vision and 360 strategy:
- Define the 5-year vision and strategy for the category, identifying and measuring the Maison’s growth potential (revenue, volume, profit) based on a comprehensive market analysis (consumer & competition insights).
- Develop the category’s 5-year plan including category-level financial ambitions aligned with Cartier strategy guidelines and targets.
- Define the positioning of product collections as well as their role and contribution to the Maison.
- Collaborate with Cartier Operations to establish the necessary manufacturing capabilities to support the ambition.
- Ensure proper strategy implementation & follow-up with key stakeholders and regions.
Manage Watchmaking global activity:
- Foster strong partnerships with all stakeholders (Communication, Creative Studio, Manufacturing, Merchandising, Communications, Operations…) to ensure effective and constructive collaboration.
- Monitor Cartier Watches sales by analyzing the performance of collections, segments, and markets.
- Manage the product portfolio (existing range & novelties), product life cycle and the novelty rate to maintain/improve performance and margin.
- In collaboration with Merchandising and Supply Chain, define sales forecasts to optimize manufacturing facilities.

- Approve and prioritize industrial planning, finding the right balance between novelties and the existing range.
- Approve and monitor strategic plans, action plans and subsidiary novelty launch plans to ensure global consistency and local relevancy in strategy implementation.
- Lead the Watches & Wonders project in collaboration with all involved departments.
Lead the development and launch of new products:
- Oversees the development of briefs, product concepts, names, targets and positioning, ensuring their approval and liaising with markets during showroom presentations.
- Lead the product development cycle, working with various stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact of Creative Studio and Manufacture, and arbitrating when necessary.
- Act as co-signatory for key development stages, including cost price, validation notes, vouchers to issue.
- In collaboration with key central and regional stakeholders, define 360° strategy and action plans to support new product launches and existing products.
Guarantee the financial performance of the category:
- Set clear coefficient targets and monitor their achievement.
- Challenge and approve the cost prices of finished products.
- Set retail prices and manage prices increase and approve the positioning of respective collections in different regions to ensure consistency.
- Oversee the monitoring and analysis of product performance indicators, and ensure the implementation of corrective actions to improve margin levels.
- Manage product clearance plans in collaboration with Cartier Operations and Merchandising teams.
Organize and manage a team:
- Organize and manage the team, including recruitment, goal setting, performance evaluation, and propose salary adjustments
- Develop and organize training plans, prepare and monitor direct reports’ individual plans.
- Manage, supervise, lead, motivate and develop a team of 25 individuals.
- Ensure Maison’s vision, priorities and values are continuously shared within the team.
PROFILE
- Higher education background (Business School, Management) and at least 15 years of experience in the luxury sector, demonstrating strong marketing skills and product acumen.
- Proven managerial skills and an aptitude for inspiring, leading, developing and rallying teams, including cross-functional collaboration.
- Creative and agile “test-and-learn” mindset, capable of working effectively with diverse profiles, from creatives to technical teams.
- Extensive experience in project and/or transformation management within complex environments and proven ability to successfully deliver major projects while meeting objectives and requirements in terms of time, quality, budget, and resources.
- International exposure; fluent in both French and English.
