This position is responsible for overseeing and supervising the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates

• Ensures the team follows applicable processes and procedures. Maintains records to support transactions and provide documentation to the appropriate parties, including VOYA, government agencies, and others.

• Audits and submits data entry uploads for taxes and commissions such as uploads for taxes to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal laws

• Develops and maintains relationships with department peers focused on collaboration, honesty, integrity, and respect for each other

• Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

• Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

• Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Education/Qualification: 

• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred 

• 5-7 years of related experience

• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

• Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical skills 

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint 

• Experience with Excel and be comfortable with managing excel generated reports.

• HRIS experience preferred 

• Proficient with payroll software

• Effective communication skills and strong presentation skills; demonstrated ability to effectively deliver informative and engaging presentations 

• Strong attention to detail 

• Understands and applies complex information and data from various sources to meet objectives 

• Manages multiple assignments, sets priorities, and adapts to changing conditions and work assignments 

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
