OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: BUSN 200 Facilitator
LOCATION: St. Paul Campus
HOURS: Approximately 6-10 per week
PAY RATE: Starting at $16.50 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
The BUSN 200 Program is hiring Facilitators! Come join our dynamic and engaging team of students responsible for leading BUSN 200 classes.
BUSN 200 is a zero-credit course required for all business majors and general business minors. Students in BUSN 200 complete 40 hours of volunteer service with a nonprofit, attend four classes, and complete a series of assignments. Facilitators co-teach classes, grade assignments, manage communication with students, and complete special projects to support the Business Learning Through Service program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Facilitate discussion-based classes for groups of about 12 business students using a shared curriculum
- Manage relationships and communications with students and nonprofit partners
- Review and grade student assignments and final projects
- Hold weekly office hours to complete course-related work, meet with students, and carry out special projects
- Collaborate with other facilitators on tasks and projects that serve to advance the BUSN 200 program
- Attend required staff meetings, participate in team-building and professional development, and advise on improvements to the program
- Serve as an advocate for volunteer service and an ambassador for the BUSN 200 program
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Preference giving to students available to work in-person during J-Term 2027; position will continue into future terms after J-Term
- Strong preference given to business students, especially first- and second-year students
- Demonstrated commitment to volunteer service and interest in nonprofits or social issues
- Experience and comfort speaking to and leading small groups
- Dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take on high levels of responsibility
- Strong communication skills, optimism, and professionalism
- Excels working as a cooperative and collaborative team member
- Able to lead assertively and be decisive when presented with ambiguity or difficult questions
- Willing to provide constructive feedback to peers and enforce grading standards
- Committed to continuous improvement and open to accepting feedback
- Able to manage data, such as with Canvas, spreadsheets, and internet research

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
