Technician Electro-mechanical Principal

The Electromechanical Principal supports Drilling Services AMO as a senior hands-on technician with advanced electromechanical expertise and supporting technical leadership. The role requires strong troubleshooting capability, ownership of HSE and Quality, and a proactive mindset to raise improvement ideas that enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational performance.

Role Overview

This is a senior hands-on technical role primarily focused on directly performing complex manufacturing wiring, assembly, testing, troubleshooting and reliability activities for electro-mechanical drilling MWD/LWD tools. The role also provides technical guidance, coaches and mentors new technicians, supports development capability, and helps ensure work is executed safely, accurately, and in line with approved procedures.

 

Partner with Us:

  • Perform complex electromechanical wiring, assembly, testing and troubleshooting, for Drilling Services MWD/LWD assets.
  • Support technicians through technical guidance, work distribution, execution follow up, and quality checks while maintaining primary focus on hands-on execution.
  • Coach and mentor new technicians to build technical capability, improve adherence to procedures, and strengthen HSE and Quality awareness.
  • Promote a proactive Stop Work culture by identifying HSE, Quality, and process risks and ensuring proper escalation and follow up.
  • Raise, support, and drive improvement ideas or projects that contribute to better safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational efficiency.
  • Support root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for complex technical or operational issues.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, system updates, traceability records, and compliance with approved procedures and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality and material teams to resolve issues and improve operational performance.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant hands-on experience in electromechanical drilling tools, wiring, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, or repair operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting technicians through coaching, mentoring, task coordination, and capability development while remaining actively involved in hands-on technical work.
  • Proven track record of proactively raising Stop Work actions and addressing HSE, Quality and production operational risks.
  • Strong record of raising or delivering improvement ideas, initiatives, or projects that contributed to Drilling Services performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, or efficiency.
  • Advanced troubleshooting capability with the ability to support root cause analysis and practical corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to guide teams, coordinate with cross functional stakeholders, and ensure clear execution alignment.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset.
