From our entire floor of meticulously designed Japanese-inspired guest rooms to our private ofuro (traditional baths), Four Seasons is a contemporary portal to the authentic heart of Osaka, immersing you in the city’s intriguing blend of heritage and modernity.We are looking for dedicated Sous Chef who assists the Executive Pastry Chef in overseeing all pastry and bakery operations, ensuring the consistent production of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and specialty items. This role is responsible for supervising the pastry team, maintaining food quality and safety standards, controlling costs, and supporting menu development while promoting a positive and productive work environment.
What you will do
- Assist in the creation of world-class pastries, working closely with Executive Pastry Chef and the team to maintain the highest standards of quality and taste.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new and exciting desserts, incorporating different, styles, textures and flavors.
- Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervise and support Pastry Chefs de Partie, Commis Pastry Chefs, and other pastry team members.
- Conduct on-the-job training and coaching to develop staff skills and performance.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity.
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef on new dessert concepts, seasonal menus, and special promotions.
- Participate in recipe testing and product development.
- Stay informed about current pastry trends and industry innovations.
What you will bring
- A strong foundation in pastry arts, with a deep passion for learning and growth. Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred.
- Experience in a high-end pastry kitchen or luxury hospitality environment.
- Creativity and a keen eye for detail, with a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
