An opportunity for a Simulation Systems Project Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the Training Program Representative team within Airbus Defence and Space. This transversal and diverse team—spread across Manching, Ingolstadt, Getafe, and Sevilla—is responsible for the delivery assurance of Training and Flight Operations products and services oToCoQ (on Time, on Cost, on Quality). As part of the Program Driven Organization supporting the A400M program, the team focuses on customer-centric solutions, collaboration, and continuous professional development, driving key military training capabilities worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

  • Define and execute the future A400M Training Simulation services strategy (MLU) from an Operator Readiness perspective, ensuring concurrency with the operational fleet and integrating the Airbus Common Synthetic Environment (ACSE).
  • Lead complex commercial bids for global Training Services, driving training aids contribution to A400M export campaigns and conducting impact assessments for new capability offers.
  • Manage key project execution activities to ensure Training Aids design, development, and deployment are delivered oToCoQ, while supporting operative planning, risk, and opportunity management.
  • Manage suppliers and key contracts across the Training Aids portfolio, including Full Flight Simulators (FFS), Cargo Hold Trainers (CHT), Load Master Work Station Trainers (LMWST), and Cockpit Maintenance Operations Simulators (CMOS).
  • Act as the main interface with internal customer teams (TASA) and support Airbus representation in OCCAR forums, including Training Coordination Meetings and Monthly Program Reviews.
  • Review customer training requirements during OCCAR workshops and conduct Make or Buy evaluations to ensure training simulation services are designed to meet operator needs.

  • Education: Aeronautical, Systems, or Industrial Engineering degree (Master's degree is a plus).
  • Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience in simulation as a Systems Engineer, Chief Engineer, or Technical Project Manager, with exposure to the A400M program.
  • Soft skills: High adaptability, proactive mindset, resilient, strong teamwork skills, and the capability to work independently in international environments.
  • Languages: Negotiation level in English (both written and spoken) with experience in international settings; Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong background in Training Services & Synthetic Environments (Full Flight Simulators, Cargo Hold Trainers, Task Trainers, CBT) and solid project management practices.
  • Valuable / Nice to have: PMP® certification, knowledge of broader Air Power programs (MRTT, Eurofighter, SIRTAP, LTA), and experience with OCCAR customer interfaces.

Note: Availability for international travel is required for this role.
