Take Your Design Career to the Next Level

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is committed to a people-first culture, technical excellence, and creating opportunities where employees can thrive!

Are you ready to be challenged, make a difference, and experience professional growth in your career? Our collaborative, multidisciplinary group spanning architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, process engineering, pipeline design, and integrity management works together to deliver integrated, high‑impact solutions.

Step into Your New Role

Integrated Design Services Leader

  • As an Integrated Design Services Leader at Kleinfelder, you will lead a talented, multidisciplinary design team of 55 to 75 staff based in Texas and Oklahoma. This is your opportunity to help shape and grow a department delivering projects that improve local infrastructure and commercial developments across Texas and the Red River Area.  In this leadership role, you’ll provide oversight and guidance across civil (land development and transportation), stormwater, and water/wastewater designs, while collaborating with teams across the country to deliver impactful, community-focused projects.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of maintaining net revenue multiplier targets through strong operational oversight, technical excellence, risk management, and proactive mitigation of issues that can result in write-offs, rework, or margin erosion.

  • May require 25-50% travel.

Your responsibilities as an Integrated Design Services Leader will include:

  • Group Leadership: Lead and oversee technical team leaders across multiple disciplines, providing comprehensive project and program oversight.
  • Technical Direction: Guide multidisciplinary teams using industry standards and best practices to solve complex project challenges and deliver high-quality results.
  • Profitability & Margin Performance Leadership – Lead project performance across the integrated design group to ensure proposals are developed consistent with Division profit expectations and projects are delivered in a manner that achieves or exceeds planned margins.
  • Project Management: Manage and execute projects of all sizes, taking full ownership from concept through completion.
  • Area Expertise: Serve as a technical expert and thought leader, representing the Red River area within Kleinfelder and the broader industry.
  • Department Growth:Drive business growth through effective budget management, resource planning, and strategic development initiatives.  Recruit and retain the talent required to support sustained growth.
  • Business Development: Expand the design business line by identifying new opportunities and leading strategic growth activities.  Provide meaningful contribution to achieve an opportunity pipeline with four times annual net sales target for the design group.
  • Client Engagement:Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring responsiveness and alignment with client needs and market demands. Strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and responsive design services, while promoting repeat work, client satisfaction, and long-term partnerships.
  • Proposal & Technical Oversight: Lead proposal preparation, including pricing strategies and technical evaluations, positioning the team for project wins.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering, or similar.
  • Professional Engineering license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering, design, or related technical disciplines.
  • Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple teams and deliverables.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and grow team members.
  • Solid understanding of business strategies, with the ability to leverage business acumen to meet client needs and position services effectively.
  • Ability to recruit, retain, and develop high-end technical talent within a dynamic organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
