Production Floor Supervisor – 2nd Shift
Manufacturing Leadership & Production Operations
Openwork is hiring an experienced Production Floor Supervisor for an established industrial manufacturing company in Northeast Houston, TX 77028.
This hands-on position focuses on supervising production employees, maintaining productivity, ensuring quality standards, and supporting daily manufacturing operations.
Qualified candidates must have at least 3 years of hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, or related industrial experience. Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must be comfortable supervising approximately 10 employees, working alongside the team, and managing production in a fast-paced environment.
Position Details:
- Location: Northeast Houston, TX 77028.
- Pay: $25–$28/hr, based on experience | Weekly Pay.
- Schedule: Mon–Sat, 2:00 PM–1:30 AM, or until production is complete.
- Shift: 2nd Shift.
- Employment: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire.
- Overtime: Significant overtime based on production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily second-shift production operations.
- Lead, train, and support approximately 10 employees.
- Assign work and monitor productivity, attendance, and performance.
- Ensure production goals, quality standards, and deadlines are met.
- Work alongside employees with production and material-handling tasks.
- Read work orders, drawings, and job specifications.
- Inspect materials and finished products for quality and accuracy.
- Resolve production delays, workflow issues, and quality concerns.
- Maintain employee accountability and enforce company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with PPE, respirator, and workplace safety requirements.
- Communicate production updates and concerns to management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, metal shop, or related industrial experience required.
- 2+ years of lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read work orders, drawings, and measurements.
- Experience using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
- Ability to convert decimals to fractions.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and quality control.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working alongside employees on the production floor.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Trade school or technical manufacturing training preferred.
- Ability to work significant overtime and extended hours.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Fast-paced industrial manufacturing facility.
- Required respirator use and PPE compliance.
- Hands-on production and material-handling responsibilities.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and physical activity.
- Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials.
- Work around industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Monday–Saturday availability with significant overtime.
- Must be able to remain on shift until production is complete.
