Job Description

As a Security Officer First Aid Preparedness Patrol in West Valley City, UT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will conduct routine patrols throughout a dynamic campus environment, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond to concerns, and support a welcoming atmosphere while reflecting Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or other campus community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel while helping to deter unauthorized access and disruptive behavior.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately in accordance with site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
