The Veterans Home RN is an important and valuable member to the South Dakota Veterans Home by 'taking care of America's Heroes' by providing professional nursing services that require the application of basic nursing principles, practices, and techniques that follow established healthcare procedures and standards. Successful candidates work in a long-term care setting at the South Dakota State Veterans Home and operate in a patient care environment where the focus is on the healthcare of individuals. Pay rate and classification level will be determined by combination of education and experience. Responsibilities in the higher classification will be similar; however, complexity and oversight may change.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must be licensed and able to work as a registered nurse in South Dakota.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Registered Nurse License and associate degree, bachelor degree, or 3-year diploma. New graduates welcome. On-the-job training is available. All certificates and/or tests required for performance at this level must be obtained and/or completed.
Knowledge of:

Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.
Successful applicant(s) will undergo an abuse and neglect screening.
Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.
