The Role
At Baxter, our products and technologies support healthcare professionals and patients every day. We're looking for a customer-focused Field Service Technician to join our Technical Services team, providing technical support, maintenance, repairs, and field corrective actions across a range of medical devices and equipment.
In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers throughout ANZ, ensuring equipment remains operational, compliant, and delivering the highest standards of patient care. If you enjoy troubleshooting technical issues, working directly with customers, and making a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note this is a casual role working in field and closely with our Service Centre.
About You
You are a technically minded and customer-focused professional who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and working independently in the field. You take pride in delivering exceptional service and are comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and are committed to ensuring customers receive timely, professional support. A strong sense of ownership, organisation, and accountability will help you succeed in this role.
Key responsibilities
- Performing field corrective actions, repairs, maintenance, and technical service activities on Baxter equipment.
- Planning and executing service work in line with customer requirements, quality standards, and business priorities.
- Managing service requests from acknowledgment through to completion, ensuring timely customer communication and resolution.
- Providing first-level technical support and troubleshooting both remotely and on-site.
- Escalating complex technical issues through the appropriate support channels to ensure efficient resolution.
- Maintaining accurate service records, equipment histories, and documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practice (GDP) requirements.
- Supporting product quality initiatives, field actions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborating with Technical Services, Quality, Regulatory, Customer Service, and commercial teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality management system requirements.
- Completing administrative requirements including service reports, inventory transactions, expense submissions, and customer documentation.
Key requirements
- Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology or related TAFE Certificate, Diploma, or Degree.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- 1-3 years of experience working within hospitals, healthcare environments, customer premises, or technical service settings.
- Experience servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or supporting technical equipment is highly regarded.
- Experience working in a customer-facing technical support, field service, biomedical engineering, or related role.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and see tasks through to completion.
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of databases, networking, and information systems.
