Job Description Summary
GE Vernova is powering the world's energy transition. With approximately 80,000 employees and ~7,000 gas turbines installed across more than 100 countries, we keep the lights on for billions of people — delivering brighter cities, stronger economies, and a better-connected world. Now, we're growing fast, and we need exceptional leaders to help us scale. The Opportunity
This is a high-impact, senior manufacturing leadership role at the heart of GE Vernova's Gas Power operation in Greenville, SC. As a COE (Center of Excellence) Leader, you will serve as the operations manager for a major assembly area — owning Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) across a large, complex team of approximately 500 hourly and 50 salaried employees.
This is not a role for the faint of heart. We are doubling output within 12 months, then scaling an additional 25% the following year. We need a leader who has built precision assembly operations before, understands the discipline required to do it right the first time, and can instill a world-class Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention culture — something we are actively elevating across the site.
You'll carry direct accountability for approximately $500M+ in Cost of Goods Sold and play a critical role in shaping the future of how we build some of the most complex power generation equipment on the planet.
Job Description
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute the manufacturing organization's strategic vision, communicate priorities to team members and stakeholders, and engage teams to optimize performance.
- Provide leadership across the operation to meet customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery, and product integrity.
- Establish and sustain a culture of assembly excellence, with a strong focus on standardized work, process discipline, defect prevention, and right-first-time execution.
- Lead the development and deployment of robust assembly processes, including standard work, tooling, fixtures, torque/fastener controls, inspection points, and configuration control.
- Establish and maintain a strong Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) prevention and control culture, embedding FOD prevention into daily operations, workplace standards, training, and leader standard work.
- Drive quality at the source, ensuring assembly defects are prevented rather than passed downstream and that abnormalities are identified, contained, and resolved quickly.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Materials, Sourcing, EHS, and other functions to align priorities and deliver the greatest customer outcomes.
- Analyze production labor and capacity requirements and implement appropriate staffing, equipment, technology, and capacity decisions within budget.
- Drive key initiatives including EHS, FOD prevention, 5S deployment, shop productivity, lean manufacturing, quality improvement, leadtime and cycle-time reduction.
- Lead complex manufacturing and assembly challenges using structured problem solving to eliminate root causes and improve process capability.
- Work with customers, functional leaders, and internal teams to meet organizational, technical, and product requirements.
- Lead efforts to simplify and improve assembly processes while maintaining product quality, configuration control, and customer requirements.
- Direct process and product improvement programs and provide manufacturing process expertise throughout the organization.
- Develop leaders and team members through coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and targeted growth opportunities.
- Build a high-accountability culture where leaders are present in the operation, standards are clearly defined, and deviations are quickly identified and addressed.
- Ensure effective communication of key business, customer, safety, quality, and operational issues throughout the organization.
- Interface with other organizations, suppliers, and vendors to assure requirements are met on time.
- Lead Lean Action Workout Teams and other structured continuous improvement efforts to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering / Technical Discipline OR a Bachelor's Degree with 4 years manufacturing experience
• A minimum 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience
• A minimum 10 years of manufacturing or assembly experience
• Demonstrated experience leading complex assembly operations with significant workforce and/or product complexity.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future

• Relocation assistance only considered from within the USA
What Will Make You Stand Out:
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, aviation engine assembly, or another highly regulated/high-reliability manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading precision assembly operations where product quality, configuration control, cleanliness, and process discipline are critical.
- Experience establishing and sustaining a strong FOD prevention and control culture.
- Experience implementing visual management, process controls, leader standard work, and daily management systems in an assembly environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional environment and effectively interface with all levels of the organization and customers.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills with the ability to identify critical issues and drive root-cause resolution.
- Strong propensity for excelling in a demanding, high-accountability environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Resourceful, proactive, assertive, detail-oriented, energetic, and flexible.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams.
