Description
This full-time position is responsible for assembling, aligning, and adjusting mechanical and electrical components into finished instruments and subassemblies according to BASi and customer specifications. The role follows established manufacturing procedures, maintains quality standards, and ensures accurate documentation through M2M software.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical and electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and specialized jigs or fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to determine assembly methods and material requirements.
- Inspect, test, and calibrate assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications and tolerances.
- Repair or rework non-conforming components.
- Record document production activity and assembly data daily in the Made2Manage (M2M) ERP system.
- Follow all BASi standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), and safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Participate in company initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–1 year of related assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient with hand tools and precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Soldering experience and ability to interpret electrical schematics is a plus
- Basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, M2M)
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines independently
- Color vision and hand-eye coordination required
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Typical manufacturing environment with moderate noise and varying temperatures.
- Frequent standing, walking, and manual assembly work (lifting up to 30 lbs).
- Repetitive motion and fine motor tasks.
- Use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, etc.) as required.
