Description
Under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, provides responsible on-site implementation and supervision of youth and family programs, family events, and recreation spaces. This role serves as the welcoming face for participants and parents, ensuring activities run smoothly, facilities remain clean and secure, and technology systems are utilized effectively. This is a seasonal position and is temporary in nature, ending at the conclusion of the program season.ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Must have the ability to:
- Serve as the primary on-site point person to facilitate pre-planned youth and family programs; foster a welcoming, safe, and positive rapport with children, parents, and community members.
- Provide supervision of participants to create a safe and interactive environment.
- Address complaints and relay pertinent information to Supervisor regarding programming best practices or issues that need to be addressed.
- Monitor program supplies and inform supervisor when they need to be repaired, replaced or replenished.
- Open and close building, including securing doors and setting alarm.
- Sets up and takes down tables, chairs, and/or technology needed for programs.
- Ensure city ordinances and regulations are being followed at parks and programs including but not limited to rules and safety suggestions
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Attend training and staff meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Have access to reliable transportation and possess an active driver’s license.
- Comfortable using modern technology, including mobile tablets, apps, and online schedules.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with youth and families in a recreation, instructional, or customer-service setting.
- Fluency in Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese or other non-English language prevalent in the City of Richfield

- Maintain physical condition necessary for moderate to heavy physical activity such as standing, walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, bending, stopping, squatting and lifting materials and supplies ranging from 20-50 lbs.
- Vision and hearing must be sufficient to see and hear adults and children in crowded and noisy conditions. Hearing and speech to communicate in person or by telephone.
