Description
The Process Architect Plan-to-Produce (m/f/d) supports the Process Owner and Global Process Owner in defining future-state business processes, translating business requirements into solution designs, and ensuring the successful deployment of standardized end-to-end production processes across all manufacturing sites. This role acts as the key business expert connecting Production Operations, Quality, Warehouse Operations, SAP S/4HANA, MES, and Integration teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient manufacturing processes. It also has a key role in the areas of testing, training and authorization.
Your responsibilities:
Act as business process expert for the Plan-to-Produce domain, supporting the Process Owner and Global Process Owner in defining, harmonizing, and governing global production processes.
Translate business needs from manufacturing sites into clear process requirements, functional specifications, user requirements, and solution design inputs.
Collaborate with Solution Architects, IT teams, MES experts, Quality, Warehouse Operations, Planning, and Production stakeholders to design scalable, compliant, and standardized SAP S/4HANA and MES-enabled processes.
Support fit-gap assessments, Fit-to-Template workshops, process design workshops, design validation, and decision preparation for template deviations or local requirements.
Define and maintain process models, process flows, business rules, and documentation for Level 2 and Level 3 Plan-to-Produce processes, ensuring alignment with end-to-end value streams.
Contribute to master data governance for production-relevant objects such as BOMs, master recipes, routings, work centers/resources, production versions, and planning parameters, in collaboration with Global Data Stewards.
Support the definition of data migration concepts, cleansing rules, validation checks, and mock-load activities to ensure high data quality for production master data.
Contribute to SAP-MES integration design by clarifying business requirements, interface behavior, exception handling, and operational impacts across production execution processes.
Support test strategy and execution, including preparation of test scenarios, OQ/PQ documentation, defect clarification, business validation, and coordination of site testing activities.
Prepare training materials, deliver process and system training, and support user adoption during deployment, hypercare, and continuous improvement phases.
Identify process risks, issues, dependencies, and improvement opportunities, and support the Process Owner in prioritization, decision tracking, and project management activities.
Work in an agile project environment, collaborating across global teams and ensuring timely delivery of process design, documentation, testing, training, and deployment deliverables.
Your qualifications:
University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or a comparable field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in production, business process management, ERP transformation, or process architecture, preferably in the pharmaceutical, MedTech, nutrition, or other regulated industry.
Strong end-to-end understanding of Plan-to-Produce processes, including production planning, production execution, shop-floor operations, quality integration, warehouse integration, and master data dependencies.
Hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA manufacturing capabilities, preferably including PP-PI, ePP/DS, EWM integration, Fiori apps, and related cross-functional integration points.
Good understanding of SAP-MES integration including electronic batch records, process orders, confirmations, goods movements, and exception handling.
Experience in process modelling, requirements gathering, functional specification writing, design documentation, test preparation, and training material creation.
Solid understanding of production master data objects.
Experience with validation, testing, and documentation practices in regulated environments, including OQ/PQ support, data quality checks, and audit-ready documentation.
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex process dependencies and propose pragmatic, standardized solutions.
Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with global, cross-functional, and site-based teams.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate in a team-oriented, agile project environment.
High learning agility, adaptability to evolving business requirements and technologies, and strong motivation to drive harmonization and continuous improvement.
Business fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
Willingness to travel internationally, approximately 30%, depending on project and deployment needs.
