Description
Minit Charger LLC, a leader in industrial electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging solutions, typically lists this role as a Tech Support Specialist - EV Charging Systems. This position is deeply technical, focusing on the intersection of high-power hardware, IoT connectivity, and fleet management software.
Role Overview:
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years in technical support, field service, or systems troubleshooting. Experience in industrial battery charging, high efficiency chargers, IoT and power electronics is required.
- Strong experience in electronics systems, diagnosing hardware, firmware and software issues
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of AC/DC power, high/low voltage systems, controls and the ability to read electrical schematics.
- Strong grasp of networked hardware
- Must Have Skills: A "customer-first" mindset with the ability to remain calm while helping a client whose operations are stalled by a product failure.
- Education: AAS or BS in Electronics Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Real-Time Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues for EV chargers:
- Electronic controls, power modules, peripheral components such as circuit breakers, fans, wiring harness (loose connections, broken or damaged wires etc.)
- backend management platforms, and networking equipment (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, 4G/5G).
- Field Support: off and onsite diagnostics, repair, verification and configuration.
- Commissioning & Training - Conduct commissioning, operation and maintenance training of new installation. Expectation is customers must be able to support themselves after training.
- Incident Management: Monitor site performance proactively to identify anomalies before they lead to downtime.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed case records and contribute to the internal knowledge base and field support manuals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the R&D and Engineering teams to escalate complex bugs and provide feedback on product improvements.
- Knowledge of EVSE standards (e.g., OCPP, ISO 15118).
- Knowledge of battery charging protocols (CAN Bus), lead acid battery charging basics and BMS
- Electrical certifications or previous experience with renewable energy/smart grid technology.
