POSITION SPECIFICS
Position Summary
The Department of Public Health Sciences at the Penn State College of Medicine is seeking an experienced Enrollment and Recruitment Strategist to lead data-driven marketing and recruitment efforts that support graduate and professional program enrollment.
This position serves as a critical connector between marketing strategy and enrollment outcomes, designing and executing integrated campaigns while actively engaging prospective students throughout the recruitment lifecycle. The successful candidate will leverage digital marketing, analytics, and student engagement strategies to attract, convert, and enroll high-quality applicants while ensuring a seamless prospective student experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management
- Develop and execute multi-channel marketing strategies (digital, web, email, social, paid media, and content) to drive awareness and enrollment.
- Analyze audience data, market trends, and competitor activity to inform recruitment-focused messaging and positioning.
- Create and manage targeted campaigns aligned to enrollment funnel goals (inquiry generation, application conversion, yield).
- Oversee content development (webpages, email campaigns, social media, videos) to ensure consistency and engagement.
- Manage search engine optimization/search engine marketing efforts and digital advertising campaigns to maximize reach and conversion.
- Establish and track marketing key performance indicators and produce performance reports; adjust strategies based on data insights.
Recruitment Strategy & Funnel Management
- Manage and optimize the prospective student funnel from inquiry through matriculation.
- Partner with academic program leadership to align marketing and recruitment goals with enrollment targets.
- Implement targeted outreach initiatives, including list development, pipeline partnerships, and digital lead generation.
- Utilize Customer Relationship Management systems to track engagement, nurture leads, and improve conversion rates.
- Analyze enrollment and funnel data to identify opportunities and gaps in recruitment strategy.
Prospective Student Engagement
- Serve as a key point of contact for prospective students, providing timely and accurate information about programs, admissions, and application processes.
- Deliver a high level of customer service across multiple channels (email, phone, virtual, in-person).
- Guide prospective students through application steps and connect them to appropriate resources (e.g., financial aid, registrar, academic programs).
- Support a welcoming, responsive, and inclusive recruitment experience.
Events & Outreach
- Plan and execute recruitment events such as open houses, webinars, information sessions, and outreach presentations.
- Represent the department at recruitment events, conferences, and partner engagements.
- Coordinate event logistics, promotional materials, and communication strategies.
- Support outreach to key pipeline audiences and partners.
Reporting, Operations, & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare regular reports on marketing effectiveness, recruitment results, and enrollment trends.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and the student experience.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across marketing, admissions, and academic programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and executing digital marketing campaigns and analyzing performance metrics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience in higher education marketing, admissions, or enrollment management.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management systems (e.g. Salesforce) and marketing automation tools.
- Knowledge of SEO/SEM, paid media, and web analytics platforms.
- Experience supporting graduate or professional program recruitment.

Work Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Opportunity for hybrid work environment (2 days in office, 3 days remote)

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $49,188.00 - $71,340.00.
