## This role in summary
As the Material Lead, you will drive the strategic oversight of end-to-end material flow, planning, and execution across internal and external operations. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the critical liaison between Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Technology, and S&OP teams, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence.
## Your responsibilities will include
- Architect and execute comprehensive strategies to drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Engagement (SQCD) metrics, championing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies across the materials organization.
- Orchestrate end-to-end material flow and manufacturing schedules, ensuring alignment with corporate planning and effective mitigation of operational constraints.
- Manage robust inventory control policies and commercial supplier relationships to ensure efficient, resilient supply chain operations.
- Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize total cost, maintain inventory targets, and deliver on customer commitments.
- Oversee the materials organization through intentional mentorship, talent development, and succession planning while embodying the Whirlpool Leadership Model.
- Govern the strategic materials management process, aligning short-term execution with long-term business objectives and global manufacturing standards.
## Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience
- Demonstrated expertise in materials management, supply chain operations, or logistics,
- Proven track record of leveraging lean methodologies (e.g., WCM, Six Sigma) to drive operational improvements and process efficiency.
- Experience managing complex supplier relationships and collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong technical knowledge of supply chain management principles and industry-standard manufacturing regulations.
## Preferred skills and experiences
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.
- Strong proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with direct experience in SAP preferred.
- APICS (CSCP/CPIM) certification or equivalent professional credentials.
